Austin Epadi Igbuku light on foundation presents educational materials, awards to students in Isoko nation

It was a gathering of who and who in Isoko nation at Aviarà in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State as Austin Epadi Igbuku Light on Foundation presented educational materials such as note books and awards to students who proved themselves worthy in their academic performance.
In his speech, the founder of the foundation, Dr Austin Igbuku noted that the foundation which was launched on the 4th of May 2009 is non- profit and non- governmental organization but, with the sole aim of sustaining the education legacy of his late father who so loved education before he passed on, while developing the next generation of leaders from Isoko Local Government Areas and become leaders of Nigeria as a whole.
Dr. Austin Igbuku noted that, the organization, caters for various wards designed to recognize and commend outstanding academic performances by students from various communities in lsoko nation.
He pointed out that, since the inception of the foundation, it has given awards to great minds and talented students/teachers within lsoko Local Government Areas, stressing that, this year marked the fourteenth year award ceremony.
He equally stated that “TEACHERS” were also given awards in recognition of their contributions in impacting the students through mentoring and guidance from all schools selected.
“The foundation is aimed at developing the next generation of leaders for Isoko Local Government Area and up coming leaders of Nigeria as a whole”.
” This year’s (2023) ceremony covered 20 schools among which are Aviara Secondary Commercial Schools, Aviara, Adams Memorial Araya, Abiogu Grammar School, Ewhokpaka, Uzere Grammar School,Enwhe, Irri Grammar School,Irri,Idheze Grammar School,Idheze ,Okpe Grammar School,Okpe, Emiye Girls Grammar School, and Uro Grammar School Uro”.
He said, apart from the above, the foundation instigates an English speaking competition among invited schools aimed at promoting fluent communication in English language for purpose of effective communication.
Dr. Austin Igbuku used the medium to thank those who have been of immense supports and contributions to the foundation since its inception and that has made it to achieve its goals over the years.
In her lecture titled:”Building Resilience: A Necessary Tool For Life And Career, Mrs Amadhe Bernice Ogho said, to attain prominence in academic career and life generally, one needs to be determined and ready to succeed. According to her, for a student to be successful, he or she must not give up whenever he/she encounters challenges in the course of acquiring education, saying, challenges are part of life.
She said:” No successful person you see in the society today that did not pass through one challenge or the other, all is about resilient” The lecturer who anchored her lecture on past stories to pass her message, charged students to be up and doing if they want to succeed in life.
Also speaking on the topic: ” Importance Of Quality Education In Today’s Clime” is Mr Ojo Akin -Longe. He said there is no short cut to success in life. According to him, for any student to be successful in life, he must work hard as nobody who is famous today in the world that does not work hard.
He therefore advised the students to take their studies seriously and stop thinking about short cut to make money. He said, they shouldn’t be deceived that education is a scam and be involved in fraudulent activities such as internet fraud popularly called Yahoo which is prevalent in the society today.
Other speakers include: Mrs Ekelemu P.E. She harped on the importance of the foundation for humanity and others.
The programme which featured a novelty match between Emede Grammar School and Aviara Secondary Commercial School, saw Emede scoring Aviara 1 goal, climaxed with cultural dances , presentation of notebooks to Aviara students in JSS 1 and 2 and prizes/awards to winners (students) involved in discourse competition.
