In a significant revelation, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pinpointed the areas where criminal elements are taking refuge within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

During the inauguration of the new Operation Office at the Headquarters of the Kwali Local Government Council in Abuja, the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi, disclosed that recent intelligence reports have identified the hills of Gwagwalada and Kwali area councils as hotspots for criminal activities.

Dr. Audi emphasized the imperative for collaborative efforts between NSCDC personnel and sister security agencies operating in the Gwagwalada and Kwali axis of the FCT to effectively combat the criminal elements lurking in these areas.

Issuing a directive to root out any remaining bandits and kidnappers, Dr. Audi urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies to facilitate the eradication of criminal elements from their communities.

Expressing gratitude to the Kwali Area Council for constructing a suitable structure for the NSCDC, Dr. Audi pledged the Corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, properties, and critical national assets in the region.

Moreover, the NSCDC officially launched three trucks equipped with firearms at the FCT Command headquarters to bolster the command’s capacity in combating criminal activities within the territory.

However, Dr. Audi cautioned NSCDC personnel against misuse of the newly inaugurated equipment, stressing that it should be employed solely to confront and neutralize terrorists, kidnappers, and bandits, without intimidating or harassing law-abiding citizens.

In response, the Commandant of the FCT Command, Olusola Odumosu, praised the transformative leadership of the CG Audi, affirming the readiness of the FCT Command to confront crime decisively with the strategic deployment of tactical squads across the territory.
