The coordinator of the Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG), Super Comrade Joseph Evah has empowered the physically challenge persons, Dwarfs and other groups, including the Niger-Delta residents in Lagos as part of his social responsibility to alleviate the current economic hardship ravaging the country at the moment.

Super Comrade Evah noted that, the IMG initiated the regular micro-finance grants to help all Niger-Delta residents in Lagos to cope with the current economic hardship facing the country.

While presenting cheques to various groups present, Super Comrade Evah observed that, the Niger-Deltans are not lazy people, stressing that the ordinary Nigerians are equally not lazy but, pointed out that those saddle with responsibility for leadership are the ones who are lazy because they have dull brains and that is why they have not been able to formulate good policies for the economy to be in good shape.

He noted that, today’s programme is to show to the World how hardworking are the Niger-Deltans, while commending President Tinubu for appointing a Niger-Delta woman from Bayelsa state, Mrs Walson Jack as head of the civil service of the Federation.

The guest speaker, Mrs Tina Wilfred Igumbor,
noted that, Micro-finance grants is a credit facility given to individuals, groups or smaller organizations to boost their businesses and contribute to the growth of the National economy.

While speaking on how to manage the credit facility, she noted that, first, one must know all about the “TRADE or BUSINESS” one is about getting into and you must understand that you will pay back.

She stressed the fact that, there is need for every beneficiary to ensure that loan is well utilized and managed to ensure that business you are into grows, so that IMG will be proud and have the zeal to do more.

The event held on the 17, August 2024, at MERCY Hall in Ikosi attracted various groups from Niger-Deltans residents in Lagos where cheques and Pop Corn machines were presented to the physically challenge persons and Dwarfs association.
