NEED FOR THE FEAR OF GOD IN PEACE BUILDING.
The Bible says “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 (KJV) the Qur’an says “They only are the (true) believers whose hearts feel fear when Allah is mentioned, and when His revelations are recited unto them they increase their faith, and who trust in their Lord;” Quran 8:2
NEED FOR SACREDNESS OF HUMAN LIFE IN PEACE BUILDING
The Bible says Thou shalt not kill. Exodus 20:13 (KJV) while the Qur’an gave the implications and exceptions “……… whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth. Quran 5:32
NEED FOR TRUTH IN PEACE-BUILDING
The Bible says “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”. John 8:32 (KJV) while the Qur’an says “And say: Truth hath come and falsehood hath vanished away. Lo! falsehood is ever bound to vanish”. Quran 17:81
NEED FOR JUSTICE IN PEACE BUILDING
The Bible gave the weightier matters of law “…….. the weightier matters of the law, justice, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.Matthew 23:23 (KJV) and the Qur’an gave what is enjoined and what is forbidden of the Law “Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorteth you in order that ye may take heed. Quran 16:90
NEED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS IN PEACE BUILDING
The Bible says “For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:20 (KJV) The Quran gave the details “It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress. Such are they who are sincere. Such are the Allah-fearing.” Quran 2:177
NEED TO KNOW LIFE IN THIS WORLD IN PEACE BUILDING.
The Bible asked “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36 (KJV) while the Quran gave the details “Know that the life of the world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children; as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but afterward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow, then it becometh straw. And in the Hereafter there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion”. Quran 57:20
NEED TO KNOW MANKIND IS ONE COMMUNITY AND REASON WHY THE DIVISION IN PEACE BUILDING
Mankind were one community, and Allah sent (unto them) prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the Scripture with the truth that it might judge between mankind concerning that wherein they differed. And only those unto whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred one of another. And Allah by His Will guided those who believe unto the truth of that concerning which they differed. Allah guideth whom He will unto a straight path. Quran 2:213
NEED FOR KNOWLEDGE IN PEACE BUILDING
The Bible Affirm “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children”. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) while The Quran admonishes “(O man), follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the heart – of each of these it will be asked.” Quran 17:36
NEED TO KNOW THE PURPOSE OF SCRIPTURES IN PEACE BUILDING.
The Bible says “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) while the Qur’an is specific “- Nay, but it is a glorious Qur’an. On a guarded tablet”. Quran 85:21-22 and further said ” Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian”. Quran 15:9
