Following the Super Falcons’ remarkable comeback victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, President Bola Tinubu rewarded each player with $100,000 and a three-bedroom house.
In addition, members of the coaching and technical crew will receive $50,000 each, along with a three-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Housing Estate.
The announcement was made during a celebratory reception at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Tinubu also conferred national honours on both players and officials.
Reacting during a Sunday sermon at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on August 3, Pastor Enoch Adeboye commended President Tinubu for recognising and rewarding the team’s achievement.
However, the respected cleric emphasized that coaches should not receive less than the players, pointing out that the team’s success hinged heavily on the technical crew’s strategy and leadership.
Pastor Adeboye, who revealed he was once a sportsman, insisted that no matter how talented the players are, it is the coaches’ wisdom that guides them to victory.
He said, “To win, you need a coach. A coach brings knowledge and strategy. Without that, even the best players may fail.”
