FORCE Disciplinary Committee FDC has summoned Assistant Inspector General of Police FCID Abuja, AIG Idowu Owohunwa, Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Simon Lough and other senior officers before it on allegation of entry and age falsification into the Police Force. The officers sources said, were to appear before the FDC Monday February 10 to 12, 2025 and were to treat the invitation with utmost importance.
According to sources, the order issued for the appearance of Messrs Owohunwa, Lough and other senior officers is related to the ongoing investigation into age and entry falsification allegations against 197 Police officers which made the Police Service Commission PSC issuing directive to the Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun to implement the regularisation of their ages and entry dates.
In a memo sent by the Force Secretary’s office to the officers on Friday and sighted by The Gazette, Police commissioners Adepoju Olugbena Adewole, Aina Emmanuel, and Salami Wakili are to also appear before the Disciplinary Panel at the Force Headquarters in Abuja from Monday to Wednesday next week.
Assistant Inspector General of Police Benneth Igweh and Messrs Owohunwa and Lough were also ordered to appear along side others before the disciplinary panel.
The memo also directed the officers to appear at the panel in their standard daily dress code and to treat the directive with great importance.
AIG Owohunwa is specifically accused of altering his date of entry to justify the three special promotions he had while he served three Inspectors-General of Police. Most of his course mates are Assistant Commissioners of Police ACP while others have voluntarily retired after attaining 35 years in service but he is still in service as AIG.
