A church leader has been discovered dead in a guest house in Takoradi, Ghana, with police launching an investigation to determine the cause of his sudden death.
The deceased, Rev. Michael Kofi Appiah, founder and leader of Light of Faith Ministry, was said to have checked into the facility late at night alongside a woman believed to be a member of his church and a university student.
Sources indicated that the pair arrived at the guest house at about 10 p.m., ordered food and drinks, and later retired to their room.
However, hours later, staff reportedly found the cleric unresponsive, raising alarm and prompting a call to security authorities. He was subsequently confirmed dead.
The woman who accompanied him has become a key figure in the ongoing investigation, as authorities are expected to question her to establish what transpired before the incident.
The development has sparked public reactions, particularly due to the cleric’s position as a religious leader known for advocating discipline and moral values.
Police authorities have stated that the cause of death is yet to be ascertained, noting that a postmortem examination will be conducted to provide clarity.
