Cadbury Nigeria Plc has announced the resignation of Mrs. Ibukun Awosika from its board of directors, bringing to a close a long-standing tenure that spanned over 15 years.
The company disclosed the development in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited and made available to the investing public on Wednesday. The notice was signed by the Company Secretary, Afolasade Olowe.
According to the statement, Awosika’s resignation will take effect from May 1, 2026.
“The Board expresses its deep appreciation to Mrs. Awosika for her valued contribution since her appointment in October 2009,” the company said.
Awosika joined the board of Cadbury Nigeria in 2009 and has since played a significant role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and corporate governance over the years.
A prominent figure in Nigeria’s business landscape, she previously served as Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Limited and is the founder of The Chair Centre Group, a leading furniture and interior solutions company.
Cadbury Nigeria noted that arrangements are underway to appoint a replacement, adding that further details would be communicated in due course
