Mariam Abacha, widow of former military ruler General Sani Abacha, has defended her late husband against long-standing allegations surrounding the so-called “Abacha loot.”
Speaking during an interview with TVC News, she questioned claims that huge sums were moved abroad, asking for proof and evidence. Mariam Abacha said money her husband allegedly kept for Nigeria “vanished” within months after his death, insisting people unfairly blame him without facts.
She also urged Nigerians to stop promoting division based on tribe or religion and called for honesty, unity and kindness among citizens.
