The Director-General of the alleged fake federal agency, the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, has questioned the circumstances surrounding the death of his alleged intermediary, Dolapo Babatunde Tanimola, claiming that investigators have failed to properly examine the incident.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Monday, July 13, 2026, Adeyemi expressed concern over what he described as unanswered questions surrounding Tanimola’s death and the subsequent demolition of the Abuja hotel where the fatal fire reportedly occurred.
According to Adeyemi, the matter has not received the level of attention it deserves despite its significance to the ongoing investigation into the alleged fraudulent activities of the PFIPC.
“Nobody is talking about the mysterious death of Mr. Tanimola. As I’m talking to you tonight, the hotel the authority claimed the man got inferno and died has been demolished,” Adeyemi said during the interview.
Adeyemi maintained that the circumstances surrounding the incident require further scrutiny, arguing that the demolition of the hotel has only deepened his concerns. He called for a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to Tanimola’s death.
According to the Nigeria Police Force, Tanimola died in a fire outbreak at Kachi Hotel in Utako, Abuja, on October 22, 2025—just five days before Adeyemi was arrested. Police investigators had earlier stated that Tanimola was the only witness linked to the case before his death.
The death has continued to generate public interest because of Tanimola’s alleged role in the controversial PFIPC scandal.
Investigators alleged that Adeyemi presented himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, an organisation the Presidency later declared did not exist.
Authorities accused Adeyemi of allegedly forging official documents, operating from the Federal Secretariat, and using police security personnel to give legitimacy to the purported agency. Tanimola was identified by Adeyemi as his principal intermediary and alleged accomplice in facilitating a fraudulent appointment letter connected to the scheme.
The Presidency has consistently denied any association with the PFIPC and dismissed allegations linking senior government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the President, to the alleged operation.
Following Tanimola’s death, police said they verified the incident through witness accounts as well as records from a hospital and a church. However, the incident has continued to attract calls for an independent forensic investigation.
Some civil society figures, including political activist Timi Frank, have argued that the circumstances surrounding the hotel fire deserve further examination, while also raising broader questions about how the alleged fake council operated for an extended period without detection.
Adeyemi’s latest comments are expected to fuel renewed debate over both the PFIPC investigation and the unresolved questions surrounding the death of the man he described as a key intermediary in the alleged appointment and bribery scandal.
