‘Drunk’ Soldier Kills Two Policemen In Kaduna After Vehicle Rams Into Them At NDA Junction.

Two policemen have been killed after a Toyota Hilux van allegedly driven by a drunk Nigerian soldier knocked them down at the Nigerian Defence Academy junction in Kaduna State.

SaharaReporters learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday at the Kawo Division area of Kaduna metropolis.

The deceased officers were identified as Inspector Tanko Musa and Inspector Ajubi Onah, both attached to Kawo Division.

A source told SaharaReporters that the officers were crossing the road as pedestrians when the speeding Hilux van rammed into them.

“Black moments for Kawo Division, Kaduna. We just lost two personnel, Tanko Musa and Ajubi Onah after a Toyota Hilux van driven by a drunk soldier knocked them down while they were crossing as pedestrians at NDA junction Kaduna,” the source said.

A video of the aftermath of the crash obtained by SaharaReporters shows the bodies of the two officers on the road, with sympathizers gathered around.

The soldier involved in the crash has not been arrested as of the time of filing this report.

The Nigerian Army and the Kaduna State Police Command have also not released an official statement.

This is not the first time members of the security forces have been accused of causing fatal accidents in Kaduna and other parts of the country.

In March 2025, a soldier attached to a checkpoint in Zaria crushed a commercial motorcyclist to death after driving against traffic.

In December 2024, two civilians were killed in Kano when a military Hilux van lost control and rammed into a roadside market. The driver was also alleged to be drunk.
