Operation Delta Sanity (ODS) has uncovered and shut down unlawful crude oil processing locations situated in Omadino, a community located in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. The area is predominantly inhabited by the Itsekiri people.
The arrests were carried out on Thursday, April 10, by ODS, a unit under the Nigeria Navy Ship, NNS Delta.
Items retrieved from the illegal sites included crude oil refining equipment, five large dugout pits, and several bags filled with stolen crude oil.
This development follows accusations reportedly made by some Itsekiri youth and community leaders, who claimed that personnel from TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited were unfairly targeting them. They maintained that such illegal activities were not taking place within their community.
