Why I Burnt My Wife and 3 Children Alive – Abia Man Confesses.

Shock in Abia as Obingwa man sets his wife and three children ablaze in a shocking domestic violence case over a petty food argument. Here’s why he committed the horrific act.

An unbelievable tragedy has rocked Asa Umudioka in the Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State as a 38-year-old man from Obingwa LGA, whose name is currently withheld, gruesomely burned his wife and three biological children to death in a horrific domestic incident.

The wife, who hails from Ikwuano LGA, was allegedly locked inside one of the two-room apartments by her husband along with their three young children. According to chilling confessions made by the suspect, he doused the room with petrol and set it ablaze following a domestic altercation over food money.

Speaking to the media while in custody, the man shockingly admitted that his action was triggered by his wife’s refusal to accept money from him for cooking dinner.

“I returned from my shop around after 6 p.m. and asked her what we will cook so I can give her money,” he said. “She said she was not going to cook anything. I went and complained to the woman we usually buy things from to talk to my wife. The woman later called her though.”

He further stated that when he returned later that night, his wife insulted him and told him to keep his money.

“She was insulting me and saying all kinds of things, telling me to hold my money and not give her anything again. Some hours after this altercation, the fire incident now happened.”

Locals and eyewitnesses say the fire broke out suddenly and raged for several minutes before help could arrive. By the time neighbours forced their way into the locked apartment, the woman and her three children had already been burnt beyond recognition.

The suspect was immediately apprehended by angry residents and handed over to the authorities. The incident has left the entire Asa Umudioka community in mourning and disbelief, with many describing the act as inhumane and satanic.

Community leaders and human rights activists have condemned the murder, demanding swift prosecution and justice for the victims. Police authorities in Abia State have confirmed the arrest and assured that a full investigation is underway.

As the bodies of the victims await autopsy at an undisclosed morgue, the gruesome act serves as a stark reminder of the growing trend of domestic violence and mental instability among some men, especially in the face of economic hardship and unresolved emotional issues.
