The Delta South Media Professionals Forum has cried out over the non-appointment and seeming marginalization of media personalities from the three main ethnic nationalities in the district, by the Oborevwori's administration.
The president of the Forum, Snr. Comr. Godspower Omadhebor, made this assertion during the Forum's maiden meeting in Warri on the 22nd February, 2026. In a statement he noted that, the current imbalance in the appointment of media aides from the three senatorial districts in the, is lopsided and has to be corrected by his Excellency, Rt. hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in line with the federal character, as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.
While speaking about the high importance of the media to the society he noted that media personalities have not been able to impress it on the government and politicians, that non- media professionals should not be appointed into media positions.
Snr. Comr. Godspower Omadhebor used the opportunity to appeal to the Governor to appoint Delta South Media Professionals into his administration for equity, fairness and inclusiveness, as that will mitigate the current imbalance being experienced now.
Comr. Omadhebor, while explaining the importance of the media, noted that, this trend of non appointment of media aides from Delta south has been on since 1999, when this current democratic dispensation began.
While expressing optimism that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori being a listening Governor, would correct the imbalance, he expressed fears that the Forum is not comfortable with the current structure, where out of 11 senior top media appointees in the state, none is from the three tribes of Delta south senatorial district, whereas seven are from Delta Central and four from Delta North, such daunting Marginalization is demoralizing and undemocratic.
Other executive members of the Forum , include: Comr. Ezon-Ebi Odumosu, Amb. Daniel Sunday, Mr Emmanuel Arubi, Comr. Onuwaye Eyimofe, Chief Victor Ebipade Ayabotu and Dr Felida Osede Essi.
