Fake Surgeon Sentenced to Death by Hanging for Murder in Ekiti.

‎A 48-year-old fake surgeon, Olatide Temitope Emmanuel, has been sentenced to death by hanging by an Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti for murdering a woman, Falade Bosede, during a botched caesarian operation on June 24, 2019.

‎Emmanuel, who claimed to be a nursing apprentice, was found guilty of impersonating a medical doctor and performing the operation without proper training or certification at his clinic in Erinmope Ekiti.

‎The court heard that the deceased’s husband had called a witness, Rev. Omotade, to inform him of his wife’s death during childbirth. Upon examination, Omotade discovered that the operation was carried out unprofessionally and alerted the police, who launched an investigation.

‎Emmanuel confessed to performing the operation, but claimed it was successful and the mother developed complications afterwards.

‎However, Justice Jubril Aladejana ruled that Emmanuel’s actions were “wickedly reckless” and caused the death of Falade Bosede.

‎The prosecution, led by Kunle-Shina Adeyemo, presented seven witnesses and tendered evidence, including statements from the defendant, medical reports, and photographs of the deceased.

‎Emmanuel’s counsel, Adeyinka Opaleke, did not call any witness. The judge pronounced the sentence, saying “The judgment of this court is that, you Olatide Temitope Emmanuel be hanged by the neck until you are dead, may the Lord have mercy on your soul
