Nigerian street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that no artiste in the country can win a Grammy Award without featuring him on a song.
Portable made the assertion during an interview on Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television on Sunday.
He described himself as the “new-born Fela” and said his influence could help artistes secure Grammy recognition.
“If any artiste wants to collect Grammy in this Nigeria, if you don’t feature me, you’d not collect Grammy. If you want to collect a Grammy nomination, come and feature me. I am the new face—new born Fela.
“See my style. I have lookalike like thousand look alike. Even many people are looking up to me,” he said.
Portable also spoke about his involvement in celebrity boxing, saying he had used his music career to help promote the sport in Nigeria.
“I am going for tour. Now, I have tried for Nigeria. I use my music career to build Nigeria boxing. In 2026, which boxer can come out to say they collected money more than me in this Nigeria? Who has collected more than N100 million? Who has grace like me? I’m a superstar,” he said.
The singer is set to rekindle his rivalry with actor Charles Okocha in a celebrity boxing rematch titled ‘Unfinished Business’, scheduled to hold at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Portable recently suffered defeat in another celebrity boxing contest after losing to streamer Carter Efe.
