Today, Distinguished Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, FCA, made history for influencing the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area. This is no longer a fiction but a reality as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, signed the Bill into law.
The journey for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Oleh, which is the first of its kind in Delta South Senatorial District, had its first reading in the red chamber on November 7, 2023. Emphatically, 5 months after our capacity representative was sworn in on June 13, 2023.
Following, the second reading of the 'Bill for the Establishment of Federal Medical Centre, Oleh', was read on the floor of the Senate and there after, recommended for committee scrutiny on October 22, 2024.
The committee did a meticulous assignment and reported to the hallowed chamber on May 21, 2025. Having met all requirements through a thorough process, the Bill was passed after third reading on the same day.
Today, history has been made as Mr President has once again, after signing thr Bill for the Establishment of the Maritime University, Okerenkoko, also sponsored by our brilliant representative, demonstrated that his agenda, Renewed Hope, encompasses a district vast in resources and contributes handsomely to the national coffers.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has proven beyond comprehension that he is a people-centric representative whose actions and achievements speak louder than rethorics. This laudable development mean so much to the people of Delta South and their appreciations know no bounds.
