Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has opened up about her personal life and why she no longer seeks a romantic partner at her age.
Speaking in an interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast hosted by Isbae U, the veteran actress made it clear that she is not lonely or lacking male attention.
She explained that in Igbo culture, her sons and brothers-in-law already fill the role of protectors, which she called her husbands.
Ozokwor stated firmly that she does not need any man to sleep beside her every night at this stage of her life.
She said she is now old and questioned what she would even be doing with a man in the other room.
Instead, the actress revealed that her private time is spent on serious prayer.
She described keeping night vigils and talking deeply with her Father in heaven. For her, the other room is not for romance but for fervent spiritual communication.
Her words: “I am not man-less. I have my sons around me. In Igboland, your sons and your brothers-in-law are all your husbands. So, I don’t need any man to sleep with me at night at this age. I’m old already. What would I be doing in the other room again? And in the other room, what I do there now is fervent prayers. You know, keeping night prayers, communicating with my Father in heaven and all that.”
