Lagos, Nigeria — A hotel manager in Lagos has been sacked following allegations of attempted sexual assault on a female staff member, according to reports from insiders. The names of the hotel and the victim have been withheld for security reasons.
The manager, identified as Mr. Lucky Chukwu Michele, reportedly began pursuing the victim romantically. When she refused his advances, tensions escalated. Sources revealed that Mr. Michele also repeatedly delayed her salary payments, even while paying other staff members, and allegedly told the victim she owed him something whenever she confronted him about her unpaid wages.
Concerned for her safety, the victim reported the matter to senior colleagues. In a coordinated effort to protect her and capture evidence, a CCTV camera was strategically installed in the hotel room where an encounter was expected.
The camera reportedly recorded the manager pushing the victim against a wall and attempting to remove her undergarments. When the victim began shouting, he allegedly tried to cover her mouth to silence her. Fortunately, another hotel staff member intervened, rescuing the victim before the situation escalated further. Mr. Michele reportedly fled the scene before police could arrive.
Authorities have been alerted, and the incident is under investigation. The hotel management confirmed that Mr. Michele has been immediately terminated from his position, emphasizing their commitment to a safe and respectful workplace for all employees.
