A middle-aged Kenyan man from Kinyai village in Kangundo constituency, Machakos County, was arrested after allegedly raping two goats, leading to their deaths. The residents spotted the man pulling the animals from a nearby bush where they had been tied.
According to authorities, the suspect’s mother was the first to raise the alarm after discovering the lifeless goats and her son in a compromising situation.
The area assistant chief, together with local residents, quickly responded and apprehended the suspect before handing him over to officers at Kangundo Police Station. Photos of the dead goats and the suspect in custody later spread across social media, sparking widespread outrage.
Many Kenyans condemned the act as cruel, shameful, and deeply disturbing, with calls for tougher penalties for such offenses.
The man was charged with two counts of bestiality at the Kangundo Law Courts. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a bond of KSh 100,000.
