A shocking attack on a commercial bus in Kogi State was caught on camera by an eyewitness on Saturday, showing the harrowing moment gunmen opened fire and abducted several travellers while the bus was in motion.
According to reports, the incident occurred on February 27, 2026, along the Ijowa–Ijagbe axis in Mopamuro Local Government Area, a highway notorious for occasional bandit attacks.

The video, reportedly filmed by a local resident who climbed a tree nearby, captures the attackers emerging from the bush and firing shots at the vehicle as passengers scream and scatter.
The footage shows the bus driver being shot, struggling to control the vehicle as passengers duck for cover. The camera captures several armed men forcing passengers out of the bus and leading them into the surrounding forest, while some travellers manage to escape into the bush. The video, shot on a smartphone, went viral on local messaging platforms shortly after the attack.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that at least six passengers were abducted during the assault, while the driver sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital
