Popular TikTok creator and streamer Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, known as Peller, has broken his silence on the controversies surrounding his alleged unauthorised visit to the palace of Oba Ewuare II and a N395 million lawsuit filed against him.
Speaking in a recent livestream, Peller insisted he was not directly responsible for the incidents and acted under his manager’s instructions.
The first issue stems from his March 6, 2026 visit to Benin Palace, described by the Benin Traditional Council as a breach of palace protocol and desecration of sacred grounds.
The council claimed Peller and his team entered without proper authorisation, prompting disciplinary actions, including the suspension of a chief, prosecution of a palace staff member, and possible sanctions against a queen featured in related content.
Peller has been summoned to submit a written apology, with legal action threatened for non-compliance.
Peller said, “My manager asked me to go to the Oba of Benin’s palace. I didn’t know about any protocols. I greeted everyone respectfully. My hands are clean.”
The second controversy involves a N395 million lawsuit by Lagos resident Osarobo Odigie, who accused Peller of defamation, cyber harassment, invasion of privacy, and emotional distress after he allegedly shared a video of a confrontation without her consent.
She is seeking N200 million for defamation, N100 million for emotional trauma, N75 million for cyberbullying, and N20 million for legal costs.
