‎‎Police Arrest Graduate for Running Illegal Arms and Drug Factory in Uyo.

‎The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested Koabasi Marsodi, a graduate of Animal Science from the University of Uyo, for allegedly running an illegal arms and narcotics production facility in Uyo.

‎The arrest took place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., during a targeted raid on criminal hideouts and illegal workshops across the state. The operation, according to the command’s Public Relations Officer Timfon John, was based on credible intelligence identifying a criminal facility at Idem Street, off Itu Road, Uyo.

‎Investigations revealed that Marsodi’s facility produced narcotic-laced chin-chin snacks while secretly fabricating and modifying firearms. He reportedly admitted to producing the drugs and converting long guns into concealable weapons.

‎Police recovered firearm components, cartridges, gunpowder, machetes, fabrication tools, and packets of narcotic-laced snacks. Authorities are continuing investigations to identify other members of the criminal network. Commissioner of Police Baba Mohammed Azare emphasized that intelligence-driven operations would continue and warned criminals to desist or face prosecution.
