Prophet Isa El-Buba, General Overseer of the Evangelical Outreach Ministries International in Jos, Plateau State, has raised urgent concerns following a deadly attack that reportedly claimed 510 lives in a single day. Speaking to Punch News on Sunday, November 16, 2025, El-Buba described the incident as a stark example of premeditated violence, noting that Muslims were allegedly evacuated from the area prior to the assault, suggesting targeted attacks.
The cleric defined genocide as the deliberate elimination of people based on their religious or ethnic identity. He stressed that the crisis affects multiple communities, with both Christians and Muslims falling victim to the ongoing bloodshed. El-Buba called for accountability, urging authorities to bring perpetrators to justice and immediately halt further attacks.
He emphasized the importance of confronting uncomfortable truths and working collaboratively to end the violence. “Genocide is the intentional destruction of a people based on their ethnicity or religion. When 510 people are massacred in one day, and Muslims are evacuated from the area before the attack, it is clear that something is terribly wrong,” he said. “We need to face the facts and work together to stop the bloodshed. Nigeria is losing hundreds of people every day, and it’s unacceptable.”
El-Buba concluded with a heartfelt appeal for Nigerians to unite in fostering a society characterized by peace and coexistence rather than sectarian violence. He urged citizens and leaders alike to confront the crisis directly and build a culture of accountability and justice.
