The Adamawa State Police Command made the arrest after he allegedly beat the wife to death during a dispute in Demsa Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, disclosed that the incident occurred on Thursday, November 6, 2025, after a misunderstanding at a bar escalated into violence.
The police image maker pointed out that the suspect reportedly struck the wife multiple times with a knife and an axe during the altercation.
Nguroje further said the suspect was immediately arrested, while a knife and an axe he used in the attack were recovered as exhibits.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, has condemned the attack, describing it as inhuman.
He ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, to take over the case and ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution.
