The Super Falcons of Nigeria have clinched a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco in a pulsating final on Saturday night.
The Super Falcons trailed in the first half by 0-2 after Morocco’s Ghiziane Chebbak scored in the 12th minute and Sanaa Mssuody added another for the host in the 24th minute.
However, the Nigerians came out in the second half blasting with Esther Okoronkwo 64th putting the first for Nigeria in the 64th minute through a penalty. Folashade Ijalumusi added the equalizer in the 71st minute while the winner came in through Jennifer Echegini at the 88th minute.
