‎‎‎Super Falcons Blast Morocco To Win Record 10th WAFCON‎





‎The Super Falcons of Nigeria have clinched a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco in a pulsating final on Saturday night.

‎The Super Falcons trailed in the first half by 0-2 after Morocco’s Ghiziane Chebbak scored in the 12th minute and Sanaa Mssuody added another for the host in the 24th minute.

‎However, the Nigerians came out in the second half blasting with Esther Okoronkwo 64th putting the first for Nigeria in the 64th minute through a penalty. Folashade Ijalumusi added the equalizer in the 71st minute while the winner came in through Jennifer Echegini at the 88th minute.


‎Esther Okoronkwo won the Woman of the Match trophy in the landmark game that consolidated Project 10 for Nigeria
