Former Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, shared a horrifying personal experience from her time in office, saying that her home in Abuja’s Maitama neighborhood was burglarized while she was working.
In a Channels Television interview, Adeosun emphasized what she called a concerning gap in her security coverage.
Recalling the incident, she said, “My house was burglarized, and all the cops who were meant to be protecting me were asleep. ”
The break-in, according to Adeosun, who was Nigeria’s finance minister between 2015 and 2018, highlighted the dangers that public officials face, even in heavily protected communities. She added that the breach was a professional worry as well as a personal shock, bringing up issues about the efficacy of security procedures for high-ranking government personnel.
Adeosun’s disclosure helps to clarify larger concerns regarding security in Abuja and other cities, even if she didn’t elaborate on the specifics of the burglary.
