Excitement is building across Warri and Effurun as two major bridges under the Warri Roads and Flyovers project — Enerhen and DSC — have reached 99 per cent completion, with only final road markings left before delivery.
The Project Technical Manager of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, Ghadi Mansour, disclosed the development on Wednesday, confirming that structural works on the Enerhen and DSC flyovers have been completed, while the PTI flyover is approaching its final stage.
According to Mansour, “Only road markings on DSC and Enerhen Flyovers are remaining. On the percentage of the Flyovers completed so far, we have completed 99% on both DSC and Enerhen Flyovers with only road markings remaining there. As for PTI, the Flyover is 95% completed with some parts and road markings remaining.”
He explained that although significant progress has been recorded on the bridges, construction activities are still ongoing on sections of connecting roads and underpasses. However, he assured that the entire project remains on schedule for completion by the end of March.
The Warri/Effurun Roads and Flyovers project, one of Delta State’s most ambitious urban infrastructure initiatives, was approved in September 2023 and awarded to Julius Berger to address traffic congestion and modernise critical transport corridors across the Warri–Effurun axis.
The project includes three flyovers located at DSC Roundabout, PTI Junction and Enerhen Junction stretching toward Marine Gate, alongside road expansions, slip roads, pedestrian walkways and improved stormwater drainage systems aimed at tackling long-standing traffic and flooding challenges in the area.
By late 2024, work on the three flyovers had already reached between 80 and 95 per cent completion, following accelerated construction efforts and cooperation from host communities.
Residentsand commuters across Warri and Effurun say the project is already transforming mobility in the twin cities. Motorists, traders and business owners report improved traffic flow in areas where construction has advanced significantly, with many noting that the infrastructure upgrade is gradually reshaping commercial activity.
Analysts believe the project will further stimulate economic growth in the region by improving logistics, reducing travel time and boosting investor confidence when fully completed.
The administration of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has received commendation for prioritising large-scale infrastructure development, with the Warri Roads and Flyovers project widely regarded as a flagship component of the government’s broader transport modernisation agenda.
With the Enerhen and DSC flyovers essentially completed and the PTI bridge entering its final phase, residents of Warri and Effurun are expecting smoother traffic flow and expanded economic opportunities once the entire project is formally delivered
