Delta group accuses Hon. Okolie of fabricated performance claims

Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency residents call out alleged false achievements

The Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency has raised serious allegations against Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, accusing him of fabricating performance claims and taking credit for projects executed by other individuals. In a press statement signed by the group’s Chairman, Dr. Tony Curtis, Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and Secretary, Austin Madu, labeled the claims as “fictitious” and described Hon. Okolie’s performance as a “calamitous miscarriage of leadership.”

The group criticized Hon. Okolie’s media team for allegedly publicizing unsubstantiated achievements, including the provision of solar-powered streetlights, school furniture, and support for farmers. However, they noted that no specific beneficiary communities or schools were named in these claims. They further stated that independent fact-checks showed no evidence of these interventions in any community within the constituency.

“It is scandalous that instead of accepting failure… his handlers shamelessly rushed to the media with conjured performance claims in a failed bid to hoodwink and delude our constituents,” the statement read.

The group alleged that the performance claims included vague promises to repair federal highways, distribute fertilizers, and empower farmers. Yet, they argued that there was no tangible evidence or detailed breakdown to back up these claims, fueling doubts about their authenticity.

The Concerned Citizens expressed alarm at reports suggesting that Hon. Okolie’s handlers are allegedly recruiting individuals to pose as beneficiaries of fictitious projects. They claimed that plans are underway to rent private properties and falsely present them as completed constituency projects under Hon. Okolie’s administration.

“This is a blatant attempt to deceive the people of Aniocha/Oshimili,” the group stated. “It validates the growing demand for his recall across the constituency.” Call for Accountability Highlighting widespread dissatisfaction with Hon. Okolie’s leadership, the group called for greater scrutiny of his performance. They urged residents to reject attempts to mislead them with fabricated achievements, emphasizing that leadership should be rooted in accountability, transparency, and tangible results.

The allegations have sparked discussions among constituents, with many demanding evidence of the claimed projects. As the debate unfolds, the Concerned Citizens have reiterated their commitment to ensuring that leaders are held accountable to the people they serve.

Efforts to reach Hon. Okolie’s office for comments on the allegations were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
