The Delta State Police Command has decorated 457 officers recently elevated from the rank of Police Constable to Corporal, urging them to uphold professionalism, integrity, and renewed commitment to duty.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Asaba, was presided over by the Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, and attended by members of the Command Management Team as well as other senior officers.
Addressing the newly promoted personnel, the Commissioner congratulated them on what he described as a well-deserved advancement, noting that the promotion reflected their dedication, discipline, loyalty, and consistent service to the Nigeria Police Force.
He emphasized that promotion within the police hierarchy comes with increased responsibility and higher expectations, stressing that the officers must justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary conduct and commitment to duty.
CP Oyeniyi charged the officers to remain steadfast in maintaining professionalism and discipline while discharging their responsibilities. He further urged them to ensure their conduct continues to reflect positively on the image of the force.
He also called on the newly promoted corporals to align with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, urging them to respect human rights, strengthen community policing efforts, and build public trust through accountable service delivery.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to personnel development, welfare, and merit-based career progression, noting that sustained hard work and integrity remain key criteria for advancement within the force.
