The estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yomi Gold has publicly accused him of deception, neglect, and misrepresentation surrounding their troubled marriage and ongoing divorce dispute.
In a statement circulating on social media, she alleged that the actor secretly claimed to have filed for divorce in Nigeria without her knowledge and repeatedly failed to provide official documentation despite her requests over several years. She further stated that when she proposed legally dissolving the marriage in the United States, he declined, only to later admit that the divorce papers he referenced were not genuine.
According to her account, the breakdown of the marriage stemmed from pressure to accept polygamy, a condition she said she could not agree to, prompting her decision to leave the union. She also accused the actor of attempting to use the alleged fake divorce documents to bring another woman into the United States.
Beyond the marital dispute, she raised concerns about child welfare, accusing Gold of failing to financially support all of his children while presenting a selective image of active fatherhood on social media. She claimed he neglects some of his children, has concealed the existence of a son born during their marriage, and only appears with certain children online to maintain a positive public image.
Despite these allegations, she stated that she has not pursued child support, even though she claims he has not contributed meaningfully to their children’s upbringing. She ended her statement by demanding that the actor provide legitimate divorce papers to clarify their legal status.
As of now, Yomi Gold has not publicly responded to the allegations.
