The Federal Government has issued a firm directive prohibiting the sale or transfer of any property belonging to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), whether within or around airport premises. The government emphasized that all FAAN assets are strictly reserved for aviation-related purposes and must remain under government control.
This directive follows extensive approvals granted by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for several projects aimed at strengthening airport safety, technology, concession management, and security across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, announced the decisions while briefing State House correspondents after Thursday’s FEC meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu. He made it clear that the directive supersedes all previous asset disposal plans, describing FAAN properties as critical national infrastructure essential to public safety and national security
