A cleric, Andrew John, has made a series of prophetic declarations concerning Nigeria’s political future ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning of impending political realignments, internal party crises, and unexpected developments surrounding the nation’s leadership.
Speaking during a recent address, John, who previously declared that no cleric could accurately predict who would occupy the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in 2027, stated that there exists a “code and password” beyond the interpretation of lawyers and judges, particularly if attempts are made to undermine the judiciary under the current administration.
According to him, Nigerians should expect to witness several contenders, stakeholders, and political gladiators stepping aside from their ambitions, both within their parties and across political divides.
He further revealed that tension is already brewing among some governors who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noting that disagreements over political alignments and future interests may soon lead to fresh divisions if concrete agreements are not properly documented.
In a humorous remark, the cleric stated that the current political atmosphere would be “unproductive and unpopular” for any politician displaying signs of weakness or inconsistency, describing it as a season where “hand dey shake, leg dey stagger.”
John also claimed that those who would eventually occupy political offices in the coming dispensation may not emerge solely through court rulings, but rather through what he described as “God’s appointed time,” which may differ from the officially scheduled swearing-in dates due to what he termed a “global decision.”
Expressing concern over the state of the nation, he lamented that many politicians appear more interested in securing the future of their children, grandchildren, and generations yet unborn, rather than focusing on the collective wellbeing of Nigerians.
“What a dilemma,” he exclaimed, while adding that if the church is subtly guilty of similar tendencies, then the secular world should not be excessively condemned.
The cleric further stressed that millions of Nigerians have suffered severe hardship under the present economic realities, saying many have been “silently killed physically, financially, maritally, and emotionally” without necessarily going to the grave.
According to him, the situation is worse than what was experienced under previous administrations.
He urged Nigerians not only to “watch and pray” but also to boldly speak against poor governance and reject what he described as the “blunders of democracy,” regardless of financial inducements during elections.
In another cryptic statement, John suggested that Nigerians should not be surprised if “two people eventually end up ruling or being in charge” come 2027, although he declined to elaborate on the meaning behind the remark.
He advised political aspirants to set aside personal pride and overconfidence regarding electoral victory, warning that “God Himself will no longer remain silent” but will bring about a long-awaited solution for the country.
“It is only God’s Government that can bring about God’s judgement,” he declared.
John also expressed the opinion that a woman “without corrupt blood” could emerge as Nigeria’s president and help rescue the country from decades of hardship and suffering.
“Obinrin lo kan,” he said in Yoruba, implying that “it may require a woman.”
He concluded his remarks by saying, “Let him whom the cap fits wear it, if he or she is due.”
