According to aNewsVistareporter, a disturbing incident has left a family in shock after their trusted housemaid was caught trying to use their 10-year-old daughter for a ritual.
The maid, identified as Joy, had only been working with the family for six months. She was quiet, well-behaved, and came recommended by a fellow church member. Her main duty was assisting little Deborah — bathing her, helping with homework, and even braiding her hair. Over time, they bonded like sisters.
But everything changed when Deborah came home from school looking terrified. She told her mother that a classmate, Favour, had discovered a strange bottle buried near their school fence. Inside were strands of hair, a black thread, red powder — and a folded paper with “Deborah Okoro” written on it.
At first, the mother thought it might be a child’s prank… until she remembered Joy had braided Deborah’s hair just two days before. Alarmed, they searched Joy’s belongings — and what they found confirmed their worst fears.
Hidden inside a wrapper at the bottom of her bag was another bottle. This one also contained hair, and a note with Deborah’s full name and birthdate. When confronted, Joy broke down in tears, admitting she was instructed by a native doctor — a “baba” — to bury the girl’s “star” in exchange for wealth.
“I didn’t want to harm her… I just wanted to be rich,” she confessed.
The police were immediately called, and neighbors gathered in shock. The family is still traumatized by the betrayal.
