Speaking during a sermon, the cleric recounted how he was staying in a hotel when he received an unexpected message around 1:00 a.m. from a woman who claimed to be lodged in the same facility. According to him, the woman introduced herself and proceeded to send pictures of large bundles of money, claiming she had been instructed by God to give it to him.
“I told her to give it to my personal assistant,” he said, explaining his initial response to the offer.
However, the situation quickly took a different turn as the woman insisted on delivering the money personally. She revealed that she was only a few rooms away and repeatedly pressured him to come and collect it directly, rejecting all alternative suggestions.
Suleman said he immediately sensed something was wrong and chose to disengage from the conversation entirely. “If I continued replying that kind of message, it means something is wrong with my head,” he stated, stressing that entertaining such advances would have reflected poor judgment.
Months after the incident, the true motive behind the encounter was revealed. The woman’s husband later disclosed that the entire scenario had been a deliberate setup to test the cleric’s integrity. According to Suleman, the man had been present during the exchange, observing to see if he would compromise.
Instead, his refusal to engage further and his insistence on proper channels left a strong impression. The husband, he noted, subsequently became a committed follower of his ministry.
Reflecting on the experience, Suleman warned that individuals in positions of influence must exercise discipline, especially when faced with material or moral temptations. “There are levels God will not take you to if you are controlled by money,” he said.
He added that certain spiritual responsibilities require a detachment from material desires, noting that integrity and self-control remain critical qualities for anyone seeking lasting impact and higher purpose.
