A woman identified as Ayo Labinjo, who has long claimed to be the mother of one of Afrobeats star Davido’s alleged children, has resurfaced with fresh allegations against the singer, accusing him of misinformation, emotional distress and public manipulation surrounding past DNA test controversies.
In a lengthy social media post dated 2026, Labinjo said she had remained silent for years while narratives she described as false were allowed to circulate unchecked. She was reacting to a 2017 tweet by Davido in which the singer claimed he had “paid someone” following a negative DNA test result.
According to Labinjo, Davido never paid her any money after what she described as a “fake negative DNA test” conducted in 2014. She alleged that shortly after the test, the singer blocked her and cut off all communication, only to later recycle the old tweet to “shade” her and mislead his fan base.
“Davido did not pay me any money after the fake negative DNA test of 2014. He blocked me and no longer maintained communication with me after that,” she wrote, insisting that the tweet was deliberately used to “brainwash his vastly uninformed fans.”
Labinjo further drew parallels between her experience and Davido’s highly publicised fallout with Sophia Momodu, the mother of his second daughter, Imade Adeleke. She recalled that between 2015 and 2017, Davido and his sister were involved in a bitter dispute with Momodu, which included accusations of drug use and a controversial separation from the child.
She alleged that Davido accused Sophia Momodu of using drugs while breastfeeding Imade, claims which she said were later disproved through laboratory tests. Labinjo maintained that Davido initially rejected Imade as his child and was compelled to undergo DNA testing before eventually accepting responsibility.
“I’m not the only one,” Labinjo stated, arguing that Davido’s denial of paternity in multiple cases showed a pattern. She referenced the roles played by media personalities and advocates during the Sophia Momodu saga, noting that Ovation publisher Dele Momodu publicly supported his niece, just as controversial commentator Dr. Kemi Olunloyo later spoke up for her.
Labinjo clarified that she did not reach out to Dr. Olunloyo until October 2018, suggesting that the 2017 tweet by Davido could not have been referring to her situation but rather to the Sophia Momodu case. She claimed that the drug test Davido referenced was conducted after Imade had been returned to her mother and that the results were negative.
She also alleged the repeated use of what she described as a “favoured lab” linked to the Adeleke family, claiming the same facility handled multiple controversial tests, including one involving another woman identified as Anu in 2014.
Despite the disputes, Labinjo acknowledged that Davido eventually began supporting Imade financially after reportedly obtaining negative test results from a different laboratory. She further alleged that at the time of these events, Davido was already romantically involved with his now-wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, which she said explained the strained relationships with other women.
In a particularly emotional revelation, Labinjo recounted an incident following the birth of her daughter, Veronica. She alleged that Davido sent a woman to her home on the day of the child’s naming ceremony with an envelope inscribed, “God bless baby Veronica.” Inside the envelope, she claimed, was N50,000 — a sum she described as significant at the time.
“I wish I kept it,” she wrote, expressing regret over not preserving the envelope as evidence.
As of the time of filing this report, Davido has not publicly responded to Labinjo’s renewed claims. The singer, one of Africa’s most celebrated music stars, has in the past addressed paternity controversies selectively, often choosing silence amid intense public scrutiny.
