The wife of Odogwu Asaba has apologised to women who criticised her for publicly standing by her husband amid allegations surrounding his alleged involvement with another woman.

The woman, who had earlier appeared publicly to defend her husband, said she had seen the backlash generated by her decision and now understood why some women were offended by her actions.

In a video shared online, she admitted that she may have made the wrong decision by publicly appearing alongside her children to defend her husband.

“I want to use this opportunity to apologise to all the women that feel offended because I stood by my husband, Udo Kwasaba. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have shown my face,” she said.

‘I Wonder If He Would Have Defended Me’

The woman also reflected on her decision and questioned whether her husband would have done the same for her if their situations were reversed.

According to her, she later began wondering whether he would have publicly defended her if she had been the one accused of having an affair.

She expressed regret over involving herself and their children in the controversy, saying she felt she should not have come forward to defend a man who had been accused of cheating.

Despite her apology, however, she maintained that her decision was influenced by her circumstances and the relationship she has built with her husband over the years.

She revealed that she has been a housewife and does not currently have a business or professional skills that would enable her to independently support herself and her children.

She said her financial dependence on him contributed to the fear she experienced when the controversy erupted.

“I was scared. I was scared if he comes out, he’s going to reject me,” she said.

While apologising for the manner in which she handled the controversy, the woman made it clear that she had not changed her personal position regarding her husband.

The wife said she had been married to him for eight years and had never known him to force himself on a woman.

“I believe him 100%. Even if I can’t defend it. Even if I can’t prove it. I believe him,” she said.

“I am going to fight for the man that made me a mother,” she declared.
