Victor N. Izuchukwu has recounted how he narrowly survived a deadly kidnap attempt after armed men invaded his home in Abuja.
Speaking in an interview with Sahara TV, Izuchukwu said he initially hid on the roof of his house before the kidnappers located him through a water tank access point.
He said a kidnapper armed with an AK-47 and machete attacked him, but he fought back, knocked the machete away and seized the rifle during a struggle on the roof. According to him, he attempted to fire the gun, but it failed because the safety lock was still on.
Izuchukwu said they later fell from the roof before other gang members shot him several times and fled after hearing police gunfire nearby.
