Oleh — The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. (Comr.) Warri Ovoke Friday, has welcomed the establishment of the Nigerian Army’s 246 Recce Battalion in Oleh, describing the development as a major boost to security and the protection of critical oil and gas assets in the area.
Warri made the statement when a delegation from the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja, led by Brigadier General Chibueze Ogbuabo, paid a courtesy visit to the Council Chairman at his office in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area.
The Council boss expressed delight over the decision to establish the Army unit in Oleh, stressing that the presence of the battalion would significantly strengthen security operations and improve the Army’s response time to security threats across the area.
