Tension gripped Abraka on Monday night, October 6, 2025, following the return of kidnappers to the university town. Residents of Aghwana Avenue were thrown into panic around 10:00 p.m. after sporadic gunshots echoed through the area.
Eyewitnesses said two young men were abducted during the attack, one of whom is an electrician. As at the time of writing this report, the kidnappers are reportedly demanding a ransom of ₦20 million for their release.
The incident has renewed fears among residents, who are calling on security agencies to intensify patrols and ensure the swift rescue of the victims
