A man has been beaten severely by an angry mob after he was caught in the act of sexually abusing a minor. A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on X, shows a crowd of people taking turns to punish the man flogging him with canes, striking him with cables and beating him with their bare hands. He was also dragged along the street as the crowd continued to deal with him.
The location and identity of the man have not been officially confirmed. The condition of the young victim is also not known at the time of this report. What is clear, however, is that the community was enraged and they did not wait for the police.
Child sexual abuse remains a deeply serious problem across Nigeria. Many cases go unreported out of shame or fear, and when they are reported, justice is often slow or never comes at all.
