Findings reveal that Susan Njoki decided to leave her job after facing delayed salary and repeated mistreatment from her employer.
According to her narration, she planned her escape quietly, but her employer allegedly monitored her through a hidden camera.
When she stepped out to dispose of trash, she was confronted, assaulted, and forced into a large meat freezer which was switched on. Our report shows the freezer was normally used to store large quantities of frozen food.
Njoki claimed she remained trapped for days without food or water, pleading for her life as the cold became unbearable. Even the employer’s children reportedly begged for her release.
According to our findings, she only regained freedom after pretending to be mentally unstable, a move she says saved her life.
