…State Govt advises candidates to arrive early for the exercise
The Delta State Government has advised all eligible candidates participating in the 2026 Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 78th Regular Course Screening Test to arrive early at their designated examination centre ahead of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled to hold nationwide on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The state government gave the advice in a statement issued on Friday by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., who urged prospective candidates and their parents to ensure full compliance with all examination guidelines ahead of the screening exercise.
Oghenesivbe disclosed that the NDA screening team, led by Lt. Col. M. Bako, has arrived in Asaba and concluded necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the exercise.
He said the CBT will take place at the JAMB Professional Test Centre (PTC), JAMB State Office, by NTA Junction, Okpanam Road, Asaba, and is scheduled to commence at 7:00 a.m. prompt, urging candidates to arrive well ahead of time to complete accreditation and other preliminary procedures.
According to him, eligible candidates are those who scored a minimum of 210 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for Engineering courses and at least 180 for all other faculties offered by the Academy.
The Bureau Chief reminded candidates to come along with all required documents, including their Screening Test Admission Card printed directly from the NDA portal, Acknowledgement Form, JAMB Result Slip, and two postcard-sized photographs measuring 3.5 x 5 inches, showing the candidate from the chest upward.
He explained that the reverse side of each photograph must clearly contain the candidate’s name, examination number, state of origin, examination centre, course of study, and signature as stipulated by the Academy.
Oghenesivbe described admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a unique opportunity for young Nigerians to combine university education with military leadership training, discipline, patriotism, and character development.
He noted that graduates of the Academy earn recognised academic degrees and are commissioned as officers in the Nigerian Armed Forces, providing them with rewarding career opportunities in military leadership, national security, engineering, sciences, administration, and other professional fields critical to nation-building.
The Director General further stated that increased participation and success of Delta indigenes in NDA admission exercises would strengthen the state’s representation within the nation’s military leadership structure and provide opportunities for talented youths to contribute meaningfully to national security, peace, and development.
He commended Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his administration’s sustained commitment to youth empowerment, human capital development, and the creation of opportunities that enable young Deltans to excel in diverse fields of endeavour.
The State Government, while wishing all Delta candidates success in the screening exercise, expressed confidence that many qualified youths from the state would distinguish themselves and secure admission into the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy.
