OFATEC Old Students Association, Lagos-Zone Celebrates 2026 Reunion.

The Ofagbe Technical college old students association, Lagos zone headed by Engr. Akpoyibo Isaac has celebrated their annual reunion 2026 with the theme: " Reconnecting our roots, redefining our future"


In his welcome address, the chairman of the Lagos zone, Engr Akpoyibo Isaac, while welcoming members and other invited guests to the occasion, he thanked them for finding time to honour the invitation sent to them inspite of the short notice , noting that, for this singular act, God Almighty will continue to guide and strengthen their effort.

Nostalgically, he said, the Ofagbe Technical college was founded in 1966 and while giving a brief history of the formation of the "association", he noted that, one Mr Joshua Abanaba that was instrumental to the formation of the old students association of the school.


He narrated that, Joshua Abanaba had visited a friend in 2018, at Ikorodu, where he met Mr Eberino Joseph, an old class mate and discussed the possibility of forming an old students association after sharing what he witnessed, when the Sapele Technical college old students association celebrated their reunion in a "Restaurant" he was managing, stressing that, during that occasion, members enumerated the benefits received from each other and also from the "association".

Engr. Akpoyibo Isaac noted that, Mr Joshua Abanaba went further to discuss the idea with Mr Joseph Etemire and Mr Samuel Iteze, leading to the creation of a Whatsapp platform where others were added and a general meeting was convened, held at 2075 guest house located at Apple junction, Festac town through the assistance of Mr Ifoge Vincent , where several other old students attended the meeting and Mr Ifoge Vincent was elected as the "interim chairman" of the association and thereafter became the first substantive chairman.


The chairman noted that, at the moment, the association has four "ZONES" , Lagos, Delta, Rivers and Abuja, with members outside Nigeria and for clarity, the Ofagbe Technical college old students association is a registered association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Engr Akpoyibo Isaac also informed the audience that the association has carried out some few major projects to assist the college and more are expected in the coming months.


A financial expert, Mr Norman Osakuni FCA, used the medium to advise members to be prudent while still working in either in government establishment or in the private establishment and invest wisely to enable them enjoy their retirement years. While lecturing them in some of the stuff they need to invest in and make money after retirement, they should not forget to consult experts in what they do not understand so as to avoid investing wrongly.
