Ogechi: At last, Fuji singer Wasiu Ayinde speaks on ‘abandoning ex-lover, daughter’.

Veteran Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate or Kwam1, has broken his silence over allegations that he abandoned his former lover, Ogechi, and their alleged teenage daughter, describing any unplanned pregnancy resulting from his relationships as a “promo.”

The singer made the controversial remark during a live performance over the weekend while reacting to claims made by Ogechi, his former pedicurist.

His comments have since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians debating both the allegations against him and his response.

The controversy erupted after Ogechi publicly alleged that the Fuji icon abandoned her after she became pregnant with their daughter, identified as Azizat Tiwalade Ayinde Marshall.

According to her, she was in a relationship with K1 De Ultimate for about seven years before discovering she was pregnant.

She claimed that after informing the musician about the pregnancy, he allegedly insisted that she terminate it but failed to provide money for the abortion. Ogechi further alleged that after refusing to support her, the singer blocked all means of communication, leaving her to single-handedly cater for the child.

The allegations quickly gained attention across social media platforms, where many users questioned the responsibilities of celebrities toward their children and former partners.

Neither Ogechi nor K1 De Ultimate has indicated whether the matter has been taken before a court or if any legal proceedings are ongoing.

Reacting to the allegations during a live performance, K1 De Ultimate did not directly address the specific claims of abandonment but instead responded in a humorous manner.

Speaking in Yoruba, the veteran singer said, “Eni ba loyun koyun, to ba loyun koyun, Saara ni.”

The statement loosely translates to mean that any unplanned pregnancy resulting from his relationships should be regarded as a free gift or “promo.”

The comment drew laughter from some members of the audience present at the event. However, videos of the performance later surfaced online, triggering criticism from many Nigerians who viewed the remark as insensitive considering the nature of the allegations.

While some interpreted the statement as a joke intended to entertain his audience, others argued that the issue required a more serious and direct response.

The singer’s remarks have continued to divide public opinion, with supporters insisting that his comments were made in the spirit of entertainment and should not be taken literally.

Others, however, maintained that the allegations involve serious issues relating to parental responsibility and deserved a clear explanation rather than humour.

Several social media users called on the Fuji star to address the accusations more comprehensively, while others urged both parties to settle the matter privately in the interest of the alleged child.

The controversy has also reignited discussions about the obligations of public figures when faced with personal disputes that become matters of public interest.

Despite the growing debate, K1 De Ultimate has not released any official statement beyond the remarks made during his stage performance.

Likewise, Ogechi has yet to publicly react to the singer’s latest comments.

As discussions continue online, many Nigerians are awaiting further clarification from both parties regarding the allegations and the issues surrounding their reported relationship
