The executive Chairman of the Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Elder Godwin Ogorugba has just celebrated one year in office with massive projects.
While briefing some selected media houses to showcase some of his achievements in one year in office, he gives "glory to God Almighty" for making it possible for him to ensure that the dividends of democracy which he promised during his campaign are gradually getting to the people.
Chairman Ogorugba, while explaining and pointing to some of his achievements during the period under review, he noted that, keying into the Governor Oborevwori's M.O.R.E. agenda gave him more insight to bring progress and development to the local government.
He pointed out that, in the areas of education, he has provided free school materials to 43 public primary schools, while giving support to the enrollment of primary six pupils, and construction of additional class-rooms while uplifting the face of the primary schools with facilities.
He noted that, within one year in office, his administration rehabilitated the Otor-Owhe, Owhelogbo and Otor-Iyede roads as well as building a new administrative complexes with modern facilities.
He also carried out the modernizations of markets by constructing lock-up stores and toilets in Ofagbe community and renovations of Otor-Owhe and Aradhe community markets respectively.
While laying much emphasis on his administration achievements in one year in office,, he stressed that, in the areas of health care, he carried out the renovations of all health care centres across the entire local government and building of Nurses quarters and distributions of free Soya milk to improve child nutrition.
Finally, he used the medium to formally intimate the public that, he has initiated the training of youths in ""Digital and Computer Skills"", as he has also created space for casual workers employment and appointment of aides from various wards as part of dividends of democracy.
Meanwhile, the first lady of the local government, Mrs Ogorugba has also taken a bold step, especially to ensure that children, no matter their background, benefits from formal education by donating "Note books and other writing materials" to primary schools children in the local government area to compliment the efforts of her husband, Elder Godwin Ogorugba's administration to impact positively on the generality of the people of the LGA.
