Ohwovoriole Promises Ministry's Synergy With Delta State Public Procurement Council To Advance MORE Agenda

The Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice , Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, has restated his commitment to play its part as one of the statutory members of the Delta State Procurement Council so as to advance the M.O.R.E Agenda of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori's Administration.
Ohwovoriole stated this in his office in Asaba when the Chairman, Delta State Public Procurement Council, AIG David Igbodo (rtd) paid him a courtesy visit.
He assured the Chairman of the Council that his Ministry would cooperate with his office at all times.
Ohwovoriole stated that the Ministry had been carrying out its activities in accordance with the law and promised the Council that any law officer that would be deployed to the Council must be competent and would be monitored by the Ministry to ascertain his or her performances.
He described the appointment of the Chairman of the State Public Procurement Council by the Governor as well deserved, saying that he should utilize his enviable track records in service and experience to assist the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Public Procurement Council, AIG David Igbodo (rtd) told the Attorney-General that he was one of those that were instrumental to the drafting of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act and eventual scaling it down to the state .
He said that he had worked with some of the law officers in the state Ministry of Justice during the implementation of the ACJL Act in the state, noting that there is a procurement law of Delta State known as the Delta State Procurement Law 2020 .
Igbodo stated that procurement was an important segment of every administration whether national, regional or local government, adding that for one to fight corruption one must first deal with the issue of procurement.
He requested Ministry of Justice to deploy a law officer to the Council to be working with the council in issues of corruption.
He said that upon resumption of duty , he observed that the legal unit was not in existence in the Council and informed the Attorney-General that they need a legal officer in order to ensure that the legal component of the law was in place and to work within the confines of the law of the land.
