At around 3:00 p.m. the Operation Crush team handed over the building and its contents to officials from NAFDAC, NDLEA, and the DSS for further investigation and prosecution. An extension of the building, also owned by the same individual, was found to be filled with more expired drugs.
The suspect, however, was not present at the scene. His wife, who was at the premises, informed him of the raid, but he refused to show up. In a phone conversation, the suspect reportedly told the authorities that they could take his wife and his boys if they wanted, showing no concern for the consequences.
Despite the crucial role played by Operation Crush, there have been reports of NAFDAC attempting to take full credit for the discovery and raid.
However, it is important to emphasize that the operation was initially carried out by the Operation Crush team led by Sub Lt. I.D. Aju, before NAFDAC’s involvement.
