Operatives of the Safe Delta attached the Head Bridge nipping point in Asaba during a routine stop-and-search have arrested a thirty two(32)year old suspect,Mokwunye Prince Jerry with six packets of live cartridges in a sack bag.
The operatives intercepted the suspect on 13 May 2026 at about 1540hrs and promptly recovered the items from him during search.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer,SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement sent to Our Correspondent in Warri.
The Police Image maker said,"operatives of the Safe Delta attached to the Head Bridge nipping point, on 13 May 2026 at about 1540hrs, intercepted one Mokwunye Prince Jerry, male, aged 32 years, while conducting routine stop-and-search duty."
According to SP Edafe,"The suspect, who was riding a motorcycle and carrying a sack bag, was subjected to a search during which six packets of live cartridges were recovered.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly claimed to be a member of a hunters/vigilante group in Ibusa and further stated that one Anthony, presently at large, directed him to collect the ammunition."
SP Edafe also said,"Investigation is ongoing.
